Currently
A good Thursday to you all and a wet week it has been for us. Everyday of this week, we have seen rain in the Starkville area. Of course, we needed the rain simply due to dry conditions throughout the month of May. June is starting off wet for us which is good heading into the summer months. Right now, it looks like rain could fall at any moment now as it is cloudy now with possible virga(rain not hitting the ground). The current temperature is 74 with muggy conditions as the dewpoint is at 70. Yep, certainly looks like we are in store for yet another round of thunderstorms today.

What's Happening Atmospherically
We do have a hazardous weather outlook in the county today as isolated strong thunderstorms
moves into the area capable of producing small hail and wind gusts up to 40mph. Also, heavy downpours mainly this afternoon and evening. An upper level low will approach the area from the southwest and combine with daytime heating and our moist environment to enhance storm development. As soon as the sun begins to drop and set, storms will decrease.

Today
Another wet afternoon as strong thunderstorms forms and moves through the area mainly giving us heavy downpours and some areas may see small hail. If you have outdoor plans it would be best if you have them done in the morning as showers will again be this afternoon forecast. High for today will be in upper 80s. By tonight, storms will be out of area and lows will be in the upper 60s. Hope you all have a good day and God bless!
