Hi everyone and a good Friday to you! The weekend has finally made it here and so has the NBA finals. The Lakers and the Celtics played yesterday and the Lakers took Game 1 out of the seven game series. I look forward to watching this series and hoping that the Celtics can pull it off. I'm also hoping that all of the showers we have been receiving lately would be completely out by this weekend, but weather models speak differently. Currently, we are at 75 degrees and seeing overcast conditions with few sprinkles here and there. Heavy stratus clouds and moist conditions outside right now will be what we will see for most of the day.
What's Happening Atmospherically
As it has been throughout everyday this week, rain will once again be in our forecast all associated with an upper level low which is currently over the northeast Texas coast. Over this past week, we have had over an inch of rain and we have more to come. This low will gradually move into our region and will keep showers throughout most of the weekend. So, if you have any outdoor plans scheduled this weekend you might want to make sure you have an indoor site to move events. If you are attending an event just be sure to have your umbrella on hand. Due to very low surface heating, I really don't see any major threat of bad weather or storms. If any severe weather were to occur, it would most likely occur south of interstate 20 because of more instability that lies south of there. However, I will not exclude the possibility of any severe weather here. I think mostly we will just see alot of rain and heavy at times.
Today
Overcast conditions and light showers throughout the early mornings of your Friday. Those thick and heavy stratus clouds will stick around for most of today with heavier showers later this afternoon. So, mostly rain today with highs in the lower 80s. Even by tonight, cloudy conditions as we may see an isolated shower or two. Lows will fall to the lower 70s.

Weekend outlook
If you expecting a sunny weekend then I would advise you to go west because we are going to be looking at rain and cloudy conditions for most of this weekend. Saturday looks like a washout for the most part with temperatures in the mid 80s. For Sunday, our rain chances begin to diminish as we could see afternoon showers with highs again in the mid 80s. Despite the continuing rain for the weekend, still try to enjoy it even if all your plans are inside. Also, since we are in the hurricane season I would like to write a blog concerning what this may hold and what you need to do in order to prepare for a hurricane. I'd try to start on it next week. Well, have a good weekend and God bless!
