Currently
A beautiful Thursday to you all. Today is the perfect setting for what fall season is all about. Right now, we are under clear skies with temperatures in the lower 70s. It's very dry and windy with winds out of the north at 12mph. It doesn't get any better than this! It is so amazing how one night may be filled with booming thunderstorms and the next day is the complete opposite with a gorgeous day like today.

What's Happening Atmospherically
The cold front that swept through on late Tuesday and into Wednesday is moving slowly off to the east leaving behind drier and cooler conditions. We are actually around our normal temperatures for today with our fall high temperatures usually around the lower 70s and high 60s. Our lows for this time of year are usually in the upper 40s. This high ridge of high pressure that we are in the midst of will drive our weather forecast for today and will continue to have an impact throughout the weekend. The jet stream found at the 300mb levels have moved due north but we are still getting some strong upper level winds mixing to the lower levels. This high pressure will help to maintain a dry but windy weather pattern throughout the rest of the week. You can expect conditions to be quiet for the most part for the duration of the week. Out in the Atlantic, things are far from quiet as we have three low pressure systems out in the Atlantic Ocean now. All of these low pressure systems are still not very organized but they could possibly become active in the next day or two. One of them has a 60% percent chance of becoming a tropical depression depending upon upper-level winds and the amount of shear in the environment. I'll keep you updated concerning these of areas of disturbances.

Today
Highs today will only be in the lower 70s with clear conditions remaining throughout the day. Winds will stay around 10mph for the most part from the northwest. Get out there and enjoy the day if you can. You could walk the dog, hang out with friends, or just anything as long your enjoying the outside weather.

Tonight
In Starkville tonight, we're expecting lows to be in the lower 40s and maybe in the upper 30s. A clear night to watch the stars tonight, but be sure to have a coat if you do. Winds will be out of the northwest at 5mph.

Friday outlook
This weather pattern will continue for Friday allowing for some good high school football action to take place in. Enjoy the day and God bless!
