"And the Seventh Day of Christmas, my........"

Today: mostly sunny with a high of 52
Tomorrow: clear for the most part with a low of 34

~Starkville

A very good Friday to you! I hope you all are enjoying this great start to your Friday. After waking up to mostly cloudy skies in the morning in the past days, today started out full of sunshine as you woke up this morning. After having some rain on last night, plenty of sunshine will make for quite a pleasant day with highs having no problems getting up to the lower 50s today. It will make for a good day to start your Christmas shopping, if you haven't started yet with winds out of the northeast at 5 mph.

For most of the day, we will see plenty of the sun out and it will stay rather clear during the early portions of the night. Clouds will start to start increase in the early mornings of Saturday. Temperatures will be around the 33 or 34, but either way it will still be cold. A cold air mass will bring winds out of the northwest which will make conditions even colder.

Looking ahead to the weekend, we are in store for some very cold weather. I'm talking about Saturday night being in the lower 30s and possibly in the upper 20s. A cold air mass is what is going to guide our weather this weekend especially Saturday. With these types of condition underway, it will make for some great Christmas stories around the fireplace. Saturday, we will have temperatures in the mid 40s with overcast conditions for most of the day. By Saturday night, depending on how much clouds in the air, we could see temperatures roughly at 29 or 30 with some clearing. Make sure to bundle up if your anywhere outside for any Christmas festivities. Sunday, the day does look much warmer as clear skies and warmer air will play a big part. High of 55 degrees with lows dipping down to the lower 30s once more.

Enjoy the weekend which I'm sure will be filled with being around family and lots of holiday shopping! Be sure to keep it here for all of your Face of the Sky weather forecasts. God bless!

Thursday forecast on Dec. 17, 2009

Today: high of 47 with increasing clouds
Tomorrow: low of 39 and overcast

~ Starkville, MS

More sunshine today as there were fewer clouds this morning allowing us to see a few rays this morning. Now, since the sun is out more today I believe it will be a little warmer today than yesterday. Yesterday highs only got up to 42 degrees. Highs will get up to the mid 40s with clouds steadly increasing throughout today. Winds will be between 5 to 10 mph changing directions from the north to the east due to an approaching low pressure system in the southern section of the state. This low pressure system does have rain within it, but the majority of that rain will stay below the I-20 corridor because of high pressure that is still present in the southern region, keeping this low pressure system within the southern portion of the state. From this we'll only see more clouds coming in, and by the late afternoon hours we'll be completely under overcast conditions.

By tonight, overcast conditions will limit temperatures from slipping down to the freezing mark again. For two nights straight, we have saw the low at 32. Tonight, we'll be a tad bit warmer with lows in the very upper 30s or lower 40s. Northerly winds will still keep it cool rather. Else where in the state, the northern half of the state will remain dry while the southern half will be under some wet conditions.

Dry and cold conditions will still continue by tomorrow. Looking ahead long term, there is a slight possiblity of snow for Friday night into Saturday morning. At this point, it's certainly will be cold but I think we are just going to be too dry to get anything. Of course, I'm not completely ruling anything out and I'll have more details tomorrow concerning your Face of the Sky forecast! Happy Holidays and God bless!

Wednesday forecast for Dec. 16, 2009

Today: partly cloudy skies with a high of 50; winds out the northeast b/w 5-10 mph
Tonight: mostly cloudy with a low of 32

~Starkville

The clouds continue to hang around in the Starkville area making it look dreary. No worries though as throughout the day, some clearing will occur and we will get some sunshine in the mix. High pressure will continue to maintain it's stay here in the south pushing all the rain further south of us and allowing for dry conditions. With some clearing and little bit of the sun, I believe we'll get a chance to make it to the half-century mark at 50 degrees as your high today. Winds between 5-10 mph will keep things rather cool with it coming out of the north.

A clear night in store for us for tonight with temperatures just around the same degree on last night at 32. Winds will come out of the north at 5 mph. Watch for freeze warnings that may be issued out later tonight. Definitely, keep plants and pets protected and water pipes cover due to possible freezes. Most of the night will stay clear, so if your willing and brave enough you can possibly check out some meteor showers during the overnights. Just be sure to bundle up as you gaze upward at God's spectacular fireworks in the sky.

The clear skies sets us up amply of sunshine for Thursday! I'll be back tomorrow if the Lord's will with another posting of your Face of the Sky forecast! If your not in the Christmas spirit yet, I hope it comes to soon and if your already are then continue to enjoy this holiday of giving! God bless!

Tuesday Forecast: Dec. 15, 2009

Today: high of 49 with a slight chance of rain and overcast conditons
Tonight: low of 33 and partly cloudy

~Starkville

A cloudy day for the most part with very cool conditions. There's a very slight possibility of a stray shower in the area but it will not be a drencher. Highs will only get to the upper 40s as low and thick clouds hangs around for the majority of the day. By the late afternoon hours, we could see some clearing of the clouds which will give us some rays from sun before sunset. Strong northerly winds will keep the air around us cool with wind speed between 7-10 mph and gusting at times at 15.

Tonight, we will see clear skies which will allow for those temperatures to drop very rapidly throughout the night. Overnight lows will be in the lower 30s making for a very chilly night with winds continuing out of the north at 10 mph. Make sure to bring your plants inside and keep water pipes cover as the temperatures gets near the freezing mark.

Although, tomorrow will still be cold but look for plenty of sunshine on Wednesday. Have a wonderful day and always keep it here for your Face of the Sky forecast! God bless!

Hey, goodmorning to everyone and I hope all had a very Happy Thanksgiving! I certainly had a great one being with family and enjoying some wonderful tasting food! Well, we have approach yet another Christmas season and what a blessing that is! A time of joy and happiness in the hearts and faces of many people across the globe. A time of giving and thinking about others and their needs. I must say it is definitely one of the most wonderful times of the year! Now,throughout the Thanksgiving holiday, weather conditions were actually quite nice and pleasant.

Temperatures were consistently in the mid 60s making it feel more like fall than winter. Temperatures for today though will actually be on the cool side as the current temp right now is at 52 degrees but steadly declining. What is actually happening here is that on last night we had a cold front that came through that brought in rain and cool air which is impacting our weather today. We have already reach our high this morning at 57 degrees and temperatures are steadly dropping. We will be under cloudy conditions for most of the day with winds out of the north between 10 to 15 mph. So, a very cool day to start your week off. Make sure to bundle up tonight as skies will clear out giving us a low of 35 degrees.

Clouds will again be on the increase by tomorrow, as we have another approaching cold front on the way. The high on Tuesday will get up to 57 degrees with rain making its way back into the forecast Tuesday night. We should start to see some sprinkles late Tuesday night with heavier rain occuring during the early mornings of Wednesday. Most of your heavy rain will come early Wednesday, but it will be a wet day for the most part with lingering showers and some heavy rain at times. Winds will continually come from the north around 7 to 10 mph. Rain or shine, continue to enjoy the day and week for tis' the season to be jolly! Next weather blog will come on Wednesday. God bless!

Today: High of 56 with overcast conditions
Tonight: Low of 45 with overcast conditions
Tuesday: High of 67 and mostly cloudy
Tuesday night: Low of 45 with the sky becoming clearer
Wednesday: High of 65 with sunny conditions
Thanksgiving Day: 56 as your high, cool but sunny

Starkville~

A cloudy start for the first day of our week making for very mild and cool temperatures. Hi everyone and I hope all had a good weekend. The semester is quickly coming to an end and with that exams and finals. Thankfully, we have Thankgiving coming up Thursday to give us a chance to rest up and prepare as well as eat some great tasting food! I can already smell that pecan pie baking in the oven! First, let me talk about the weather conditions leading up to that day.

Today, those overcast conditions will last throughout the day and temperatures won't change much either with the high only getting to 56 degrees. Heading into tonight, we'll be looking at a low of 45 degrees still with cloudy condition. Some of those clouds will linger throughout tuesday, but we'll see alot of sun. Due to more of the sunshine, temperatures will be much warmer and we will see a high close to 67 degrees. Winds will come out the south at 5mph. By tuesday night, we do have a slight chance of rain in the area but nothing to be concern with. Lows will dipped down to the mid 40s with winds shifting from the south to the northwest due to a cold front. This cold front will not bring in any heavy showers in the area, but the important aspect about is that behind it lies some cool air.

Ample of sunshine will come wednesday with temperatures still staying in the mid 60s but slightly cooler due to winds brought from the north. You really won't feel that cool air until actually Thankgiving day which looks to be a fairly clear day with a high of 56 degrees. So, if your in Starkville for Thanksgiving, it looks to be a nice cool day which will give us a more of holiday feel.

Thanks for joining me here for your Thanksgiving forecast. This will probably be my last posting of the week since I also will be with my family, but I just want to leave you with this. Thanksgiving is such a beautiful holiday in which it allows us spend time with people who are dear to us and close to our hearts. Its a time in which you can relax and get a break from the stresses of work, school, and life in general. Its a time where some of the best foods come out in which you've been waiting for all year long. Most importantly, it's a time to reflect on Jesus and all of his many blessings. There are so many things to be thankful for. If I had to write all of it, there would be no way I would ever finish this blog. I have to thank my Savior first for everything he has done this year for the good days and bad days. I thank him for my wonderful family, my true and best friends, as well as sending really great friends this year who have really made an impact upon my life. I'm thankful for being here at MS State to major in something I truly love and enjoy. Like I said earlier, I will never be able to write out my whole thankful list but we all have so much to be thankful for. I hope you all have Happy Thanksgiving and may God continue to bless each and every one of you.

Today: High of 65 with mostly sunny skies
Tonight: Low of 46 with clouds increasing
Saturday: Rain mostly in the afternoon and evening hrs/ High of 55
Saturday night: Rain during the night/heavy at times with a low of 48
Sunday: 58 degrees with cloudy skies

Starkville~

Good Friday everyone and thanks for joining here for your Face of the Sky forecast. The weather has been fairly nice for us these few days as high pressure continue to maintain its hold here in the south. We've been having comfortable temperatures during the day, but nights has been awfully cold with lows in the upper 30s. However, as we head into the weekend, we will experience warmer lows and also get some chances of rain in our area.

Today, for the most part weather conditions will be about the same as it has been in the last two days. By the afternoon hours, the high will reach close to 65 degrees with winds out of the northeast at 5mph. Lots of sun for most of the day making for yet another beautiful day. By tonight, clouds will increase throughout the night. These clouds will act more like a blanket in the sky and will not allow for lows to be as cold as it has been in the past nights. Lows will only get down to the mid 40s but you will need to wear a coat and maybe some gloves if your outside for awhile. As we head into Saturday, we have a cold front coming out of the west giving us rain. Models guidance are showing different times but your best chance of rain should come around during the afternoon hours and heavy at times. Expect cooler temperatures for tomorrow with a high of 55 degrees with cloudy conditions. For Saturday night, rain should still be in the forecast with some heavy downpours some periods. Look for lows to be around 48 degrees.

Sunday, looks like a cloudy for us with the high in the upper 50s with winds out of the northwest at 5 to 10mph. Well, it looks like it's going to be a cloudy and raining weekend for us. At least, it won't be as cold at nights. Well, I don't know what you all have planned this weekend whether its staying inside, going to the movies, or even going to football games. Whatever you all are doing, I hope you all have a great weekend. God bless!

Frost and Warmer Weather Ahead

To listen to my radio podcast, click at the website underneath:

Today: 53 with overcast skies/ winds southeast at 5mph
Tonight: 33 with the sky becoming clearer
Thursday: 66 with sunny skies and calm winds
Thursday night: 35 with a clear night
Friday: 65 with mostly sunny conditions/ winds east at 5-10mph

Starkville~

A very cooool start for your Wednesday as we are under overcast conditions and the current temperature of 46 degrees with a dewpoint of 43 which signifies that it is moist outside. The temperature won't rise up too much today as the high will barely make it to 53 degrees. Tonight, going from mostly cloudy to clear skies will allow for some very cool temperatures as the low will drop all the way down to the lower 30s. This will be our coldest night by far. Be mindful of frost on your cars and on the road during the morning hours as you head to school or work. If you love cold weather then I'm sure you will be enjoying these conditions but if you are wishing that it would warm again, I do have good news for you.

By tomorrow, temperatures should be well out of the 50s and into the mid 60s for your high. Clear and beautiful skies will allow for plenty of sunshine to come through as high pressure continues to stay in the region providing for dry and pleasant conditions. Again, temperatures will rapidly decrease by nighttime and will give us lows once again in the lower to mid 30s. It will be slightly warmer but not by much.

Then by Friday, weather conditions are going to be very similar to Thursday with a little more clouds and the high getting near 65 degrees. Next chance of rain could possibly come Friday night. This is your Wednesday edition of the Face of the Sky forecast and God bless!

Starkville~

Hi everyone and I hope you all had a great weekend. Certainly, weather conditions were very nice this weekend as we saw sunny conditions with temperatures in the mid 70s. However, there will be some major changes in our forecast especially with temperatures. Today, during the morning hours we mostly saw few clouds but by the afternoon and into the evening hours more clouds appeared us some overcast conditions. Those clouds were associated with a cold front that came through giving us some light showers this late this evening. By now, most of the rain are off toward our east. We saw the high get to 72 degrees. Right behind this cold front, lies much cooler air which will impact our weather for the rest of the week.

Now, get ready to bring those sweaters out! As we move into tomorrow, highs will only get to 55 degrees with most of the day filled with cloudy skies. So, a 17 degree difference in temperature between today's high and tomorrow's high. Although the sun will be out, expect cool conditions with winds out of the west at 5-10mph. For tuesday night, lows will dipped down in the 30s. If your out and about make sure to have a coat in hand as we get down to the 30s for the first time this month.

Wednesday will be slightly warmer with the high getting near 58 degrees with sunny conditions. So, this week we finally get our first taste of normal November weather conditions. Stay warm and God bless!

Side Note: If your still up early Tuesday morning between 1a.m. and 6a.m., don't forget to catch the Leonid meteor showers. It should make for a great night to view them, so if your willing to get up and watch this incredible show please do so. If you take pictures, please send them to me at cml217@msstate.edu.

Today: Mostly sunny with a high of 71
Tonight: Partly cloudy with a low of 40
Saturday: Plenty of sunshine around 75 degrees
Saturday night: Mostly clear with a low of 42
Sunday: Sunny with a high of 76

Starkville~

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to your friday's edition of the Face of the Sky weather blog. November has certainly been a very nice and pleasant month for us concerning weather(besides Tropical Storm Ida). Mostly, we have been seeing sunny conditions with temperatures in the upper 60s. It does not even fill like late fall weather which you would normally see average temperatures in the mid 50s here in Mississippi. The way weather conditions are though, you really can't complain about it. For your weekend outlook, I forsee no alteration in our weather pattern. Lets start with the rest of friday's first.

For the rest of the day, expect nothing to change as we will continue to see more sunshine and blue skies. By the evening and into the night hours, more clouds will appear but no rain associated with those clouds. A low of 40 degrees with calm winds will highlight tonight. For tomorrow, another lovely day to enjoy being outside rather its having a picnic with your family and friends or going tailgating before the big game. A replica of today, expect tomorrow to have a high around 75 with lows dipping down to the mid to upper 40s. Speaking of big game, Mississippi State Bulldawgs takes on Alabama tomorrow so Go Bulldawgs! Should be a great game as the bulldawgs try to get one win closer to going to a bowl this season. By game time, temperatures should be in the lower 50s but will cool off very rapidly as we get further into the night hours. Make sure to grab your coat before you head off to the game.

By sunday, nothing will have change much besides maybe fewer clouds out in the sky. The high for that day will be close to 76 with a nice breeze out of the southeast at 5mph. Our next chance of rain possibly could come by monday. Have a great weekend and enjoy the weather! God bless!

Rain on the Way

No radio podcast for today. To view my webcast go to
http://www.campusconnectforecast.blogspot.com/ . Once there scroll down until you get to the headline of November 9, 2009 Morning Forecast, and then click on the video underneath.

Today: High of 68 with winds gusting out of the NE 10-15mph/ overcast conditions
Tonight: Low of 56 with showers coming late tonight shortly after 9 pm/ overcast/15-20mph winds
Tuesday: Heavy rain early morning but moving off by late afternoon, 65, mostly cloudy, winds 10-15 mph
Tuesday night: Becoming clearer with a low of 46
Veterans Day: High of 66 and mostly sunny

Starkville~

Holla everyone and a very good Monday to you! The weekend was absolutely wonderful for us having temperatures in the upper 70s and mostly sunny. Certainly, we have had a long stretch of sunny and clear conditions since the start of November. As Sunday rolled around, weather conditions began to change for us as cloudy conditions appeared in our forecast and those clouds condition are associated with approaching rain for today and Tuesday. Today, we are starting off with overcast skies with winds gusting currently at 9mph which will change as we progress throughout the day.

The changes in our weather will be due to the combination of a low pressure system and also Tropical Storm Ida. Both systems are driving our weather currently and they are both located in the Gulf of Mexico. Tropical Storm Ida currently has winds of 70mph and is moving northward. As it approaches the gulf coast, it will steadly weaken due to strong wind shear, cooler waters, and by frontal system. The frontal system is going to help steer Tropical Storm Ida northeast of us, so its projected path is going to take it into Alabama, Georgia, and the panhandle of Florida. Some areas will see more than 2"-3" inches of RAIN. For our area, it just depends on when the tropical storm began to turn northeast. We could not get any rain at all but I'm predicting a good amount of rain for us.

Expect to see cloudy conditions for most of today with a high of 68. The rain will come much later. Throughout the day, though, winds will pick up and gust up to 10-15mph by the evening and even as high of 20mph tonight. The rain should finally arrive shortly around 9:00 tonight with light showers for the most part. The temperature at that time will only be around 61 degrees and will be kept fairly warm due to lots of clouds tonight. Our best chance of heavy showers will come early Tuesday morning around 1 a.m. up to 8 a.m. Those showers will soon began to taper off by the afternoon hours with temperatures in the lower 60s by 1p.m. For tomorrow evening, clouds will begin to decrease leaving us with a clear night and a low of 46. For Veterans Day, sunny skies will again make its return back into our forecast for Wednesday with a high of 66 degrees. So once we're done with Tuesday, sunny conditions returns giving us some pleasant temperatures for the rest of the week. Come back Wednesday for another update and also I'll keep you posted if anything changes concerning Tropical Storm Ida. God bless!

Fantastic Start to November

Sorry, but no radio podcast today. Expect for a radio and broadcast show for Monday!

Starkville~
Hi everyone and a good Friday to you all! Well, certainly we have had beautiful weather conditions this week to start out the month of November. With sunny conditions and nothing but blue skies, I have to admit it was very tempting to just skip class throughout the week and just enjoy the nice weather. Today, we'll continue to sing the same tune as sunny skies prevails today with a high of 71 degrees which will be a tad bit warmer than yesterday. Tonight, with raditional cooling, we will continue to see lows in the lower 40s with a low of 43 tonight. In some parts of Mississippi, lows will even be in the upper 30s.

This weekend, nothing will change as far as conditions go. We will continue to receive plenty of sunshine with clear skies. We will be experience a little warming trend as highs for Saturday will be 74 and Sunday 76 as high pressure continue to remain strong in the southern regions. With a cool night and light winds, weekend nights will still be in the lower 40s.

Make sure to enjoy the weekend because as soon as it ends, the rain will make its return on Monday for the first time this month. Also, next week will be interesting as well with a tropical system coming our way next week. Yesterday morning, it became a hurricane and weakened to a tropical storm by the afternoon hours. Now, Tropical Depression Ida is currently in Honduras having winds of 35 mph and heading northward. Models shows it arriving into the Gulf of Mexico by Monday morning. This 2009 hurricane season has not been quite active as in the past years with only two hurricanes and six tropical storms occuring in the Atlantic this year. I will keep a closer eye on this system as we head into next week, so be sure to keep it here for any updates. Have a great weekend and God bless!

Today: 71 sunny and clear
Tonight:43 clear with light winds
Saturday: 74 sunny
Saturday night: 42 clear
Sunday: 76 sunny for the most part with few clouds in the afternoon

Missing The Rain Yet?

Today: 72 with sunny skies and winds out of the south at 5mph

Tonight: 41 with a clear night/ winds shifting from the south to the north

Tomorrow: 65 with few clouds in the morning and then clearing

Tomorrow:40 and clear

Starkville~

Goodmorning everyone and welcome to your Wednesday edition of your Face of the Sky forecast. Well, four days in and counting with no rain for the month of November. Sunny conditions has really been the main weather story for the week as high pressure continues to lingers here in the south. You would find most of the rain activity mostly north of us in states such as Ohio and Indiana. As far as the rain goes, we are for the most part seeing clear blue skies.

For today, beautiful conditions will still be prevalent with the continuance of sunny skies and a high of 72. Winds will come out of the southwest at five mph. Lows will remain about the same as it has been these few days with a low around 40 with a clear night for you to see those pretty stars out, and winds shifting out of the south to the north. The reason for this shift is due to an approaching cold front. Usually, we have showers associated with fronts but in this case we are not not going to have any rain because of this very strong ridge of high pressure we are under. With this front passing through tonight, we are just going to see temperatures drop slightly for tomorrow high with few clouds in the afternoon hours. Expect tomorrow highs to be in the mid 60s. Tomorrow night lows will be in the lower 40s.

So, similar temperatures throughout the week with possible showers coming at the start of the next work week. Enjoy these lovely conditions and God bless!

Sunny Days Ahead!

Starkville~

Good morning MSU and welcome to another weather update from CentronsWeather Forecast. I hope all had a great and safe weekend. A great game from the Bulldawgs against Kentucky this weekend, so I'm excited about that. With the basketball season starting up and the World Series playing out, this is certainly the best time of year to be a sports fan. For this week, if you love fall weather then consider this week to the hallmark of it. After having such a rainy month in October, November is getting off to a very dry start. Throughout Saturday and the rest of the weekend, high pressure settled throughout the Mississippi area and the rest of the southern regions giving us some very pleasant temperatures. These mild temperatures are expected for the next couple of days.

Today, we are going have plenty of sunshine with clear skies with a high of 68 degrees. These conditions will be accompanied by winds out of the north at 5mph making for a lovely day for any outdoor plans outside. Tonight, we are going to see temperatures dip down to the mid 40s with clear skies and winds out of the north.

For tomorrow, is going to be the exact same way with another great day of sunny conditions and highs in the upper 60s. Dry conditions will definitely be the main focus for this week as I’m not expecting any rain until next week. Throughout the week, highs will be in the mid to upper 60s with lows in the lower 40s. Be sure to keep it here at CentronsWeather Forecast for all of your latest weather updates. God bless!

Today: High of 68 with clear skies
Tonight: Low of 42,chilly with clear skies
Tomorrow: 69 with sunny and clear skies
Tomorrow night: Another chilly night of 40
Wednesday: Sunny skies of 67

Spooky Forecast

Starkville~

Good morning friends! I hope you all are having a good Friday! I'm glad it's finally here. Basically, the rain has been the talk of the forecast lately with rain persisting throughout the day on yesterday. Most of the heavy rainfall came early Thursday morning occurring roughly at 3a.m. and ending around 8a.m. Throughout the day, we just mainly had drizzle but most of the rain cleared out leaving overcast skies. Today, overcast conditions still remain with rain mainly starting around 12:00 and 2:00 this afternoon. Expect showers for the rest of the day from that point, so any activities you have later will have to be done indoors. Highs will get to 79 or 80 by noon ahead of the front and then taper off to lower 70s as the day progress. It will be very gusty as well as winds will peak b/w 15-20mph. Tonight, expect the rain to continue with a low of 50 degrees.

For the very spooky day on Saturday, I may have some good news even though more rain is in store for us but only in the very early morning, so about time when you wake up Saturday morning around 8 or 9 the rain should be out. So, the outlook for most of Halloween day is a mostly cloudy day with a high of 62. Saturday night looks to be very few clouds out which are going to allow for lows to be cooler around 42 degrees. Other than that, a rain free night for trick-a-treating. One note to add: Don't forget to set your clocks back as daylight savings will occur Sunday morning. Definitely, don't want to miss half of church service in the morning.

The sun finally comes back out on Sunday with sunny and clear skies. Temperatures will be very pleasant with a high of 67 and a nice calm breeze to accompany it. Have a great and safe weekend and keep it here for all of your latest weather updates. God bless!

Today forecast: High of 79 with a 100% for rain in the area, overcast conditions
Tonight: Low of 50 with a 80% for rain in the area, overcast conditions
Saturday: High of 62 and mostly cloudy, rain in the early parts of the morning
Saturday night: Low of 42 with partly cloudy
Sunday: 66 with sunny skies

Up and Down Week

Starkville~

Hi everyone and I hope everyone is having a good week. Weather conditions hasn't been so bad so far, as we've basically been having an up and down forecast. On Monday, we had sunny and clear skies which was the exact opposite on Tuesday with overcast conditions and rain during the morning hours. Today, is going to be just like Monday with maybe a little more clouds in the sky. The temperature will be very pleasant around 70 degrees as your day-time high accompany by a nice cool breeze out of the southeast. Tonight, clear to partly cloudy skies with temperatures dropping to the mid 50s. It's going to be another warm night.

Tomorrow, will be a different story as rain comes into the forecast. Models show another cold front coming through on Thursday evening. Typically, ahead of every front system, temperatures are going to be much warmer than at any other region and that is going to be the case for Thursday as highs approach the mid to upper 70s. With moist air ahead as well, its going to make for a muggy and sticky conditions as we have a combination of warm temperatures and moist air. Now, expect partly cloudy during the morning hours and clouds increasing throughout the day. Rain should come shortly b/w 7pm and 10pm and linger thoughout the night with lows only around 67. Some meteorologist are calling for some thunderstorms to occur, but I really don't see any weather components to make this happen. Do expect heavy rain and if anything else concerning thunderstorms, I'll definitely keep you updated.

For Friday, rain will still be around especially during the morning hours. It will not rain the entire day as it should taper off by 1pm. Another warm day with a high of 76 degrees. Next weather blog will come Friday and if there are any weather updates, I'll definitely post them up. I didn't get a chance to post my radio podcast but I'll have one up for Friday. Enjoy the day and God bless!

Today: High of 72 with partly cloudy skies/ SE winds at 5mph
Tonight: Low of 56 with partly cloudy skies
Thursday: 70% chance of rain after 6pm with a high of 77
Thursday Night: 40% chance of rain with a low of 67
Friday: 60% chance of rain before 1pm with a high of 76

Rain Back in the Forecast

Starkville~

Good afternoon everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend and were able to enjoy the game despite the loss to the Gators. Even though we ended up losing, it was still a good game and I'm proud of our dawgs hanging in there with the #1 team in the nation. For the most part we had pleasant fall temps through the weekend, and that warming trend will continue today with clear skies in the morning portion of the day. As we begin to progress throughout the day, however, more clouds will begin to appear as we have an approaching cold front coming through late this evening. Highs today will get to 71 degrees due to southerly flow from the gulf which will keep temperatures very mild today.

Tonight, overcast conditions are expected as the cold front draws near. Lows by 10:00pm will only be around the upper 50s, so a very warm night. Showers will begin early Tuesday morning around 2a.m. and being steady throughout the morning hours. If you have to go to work or school, an umbrella will be handy as models show widespread areas of rain throughout the MS area. Highs will get to 68. Most of your heavy rain will be in the southern parts of MS and moving eastward as Tuesday afternoon rolls around.

Now, by Tuesday night around 9:00 that system should be completely out of area leaving us with cloudy skies for most of Tuesday night and into most of Wednesday. Lows for Tuesday night will in the upper 40s. For Wednesday, you may see some breaks in the clouds but its going to be a mostly cloudy day. Temperatures will be in the mid 70s. Don't expect that to be the end of the rain, as more showers enter the forecast for Thursday. Some of those showers could be severe and I'll keep a closer eye on that as that day draws nearer. I'll be back on Wednesday with more on this upcoming weather. Have a great day! God bless!

To check out my broadcast show for today go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzLW4dFUM_o

Today: 71 mostly sunny winds 5-10mph
Tonight: 58 increasing clouds, rain possible late tonight
Tuesday: 68 with 80% chance of rain
Tuesday: 49 with a 40% chance of rain
Wednesday: 75 with partly cloudy skies

Weekend Forecast (Get Ready for Florida)

Starkville~

Good afternoon everyone and a happy friday to you all! An exciting weekend for us Bulldawgs fans as the #1 team in the nation, Florida Gators, comes into town Saturday. I know I have really been looking forward to this game all week and its finally here. I don't know about you all but I think I smell a little upset here. Along with this predicted upset, beautiful conditions will accompany tomorrow. Before I get to tomorrow's condition, we got to get through today's first. For most of today, we have been under cloudy conditions left by the cold front that pass through here yesterday night. From this front, we only saw light showers which were out by this morning around 6:00a.m. Temperatures were actually warmer this morning than it is now with a high near 69 degrees. This is a typical front and like all fronts after it passes through, cooler air follows behind it. So progressing through the day, as you may notice, temperatures have been on the decrease with winds picking up. Current temperatures right now is 61 degrees. Tonight, we will continue to see a mostly cloudy condition with a low of 44 degrees with winds out of the northwest. Throughout the day for tomorrow, clouds conditions clear out a bit leaving us with partly clouds skies throughout the morning and afternoon hrs. Expect highs to be around the mid to upper 60s. If you are planning on attending the game that night, make sure to bring your coat as temperatures plummet all the way down to the upper 30s. It's going to make for a chilly football game, as clears skies helps to allow some of that heat to clear out and escape into the atmosphere. Sunday, winds will shift back from the southeast giving us some warm, gulf moisture. Sunny and beautiful skies will be the highlight for sunday with a high of 73 degrees. I hope you all have a great weekend and go Bulldawgs! God Bless!

Mid-Week Report Wed. Oct. 21, 2009

Starkville~

Good afternoon everyone! It has certainly been a lovely week thus far as clear, blue skies with temperatures in the lower 70s making a huge impact on our fall weather. With this kind of weather, it makes you just want to eat lunch outside during the afternoon hours or better yet just stand outside and sing to the world! The weather is just that nice! I don't know about you all but I have certainly been busy and I'll probably be even busier next week. Although busy, I still get to enjoy these weather conditions. Conditons will start to change a little bit as we have a low pressure system on the way and models show it arriving in our area later this evening. Now, for today temperatures should get up to a high of 74 degrees. We had clear skies for most of our morning, but with this approaching cold front clouds will be on the increase. By tonight, expect warmer temperatures as gulf moisture will still be flowing our way pumping in humidity and providing southern wind. Lows will in the mid 50s due to warmer temperatures ahead of front. Models guidance shows the cold front passing though late tonight with rain coming shortly after midnight. With the cold front and that southerly flow, we could see some severe thunderstorms in the area. I'll keep a closer eye on this and keep you updated. After having so much rain in the pass week, I know river flood stage is still very high and in the case of that, we will probably see a little bit of flooding around river areas. Like always, be careful on the roadways if when your heading out to work or school Thursday morning as roads will be slippery. So with tomorrow forecast, expect heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms in the area persisting for most of the day with highs in the upper 70s. Thursday night, watch for isolated showers with lows approaching the mid to upper 50s. Keep it here for Friday and I'll let you know how the weather outlook appears for the weekend and for the game against the Florida Gators. Enjoy the lovely weather for today and God bless!

Warming Trend

Starkville~
Goodmorning Everyone! We finally had a rain-free weekend due in part of dry, cool air coming from the north. Well, a cool start to your Monday as we got down to the lower 30s last night, but we'll start to warm up here in a little bit. Actually, we have a bit of a warming trend starting today as winds begin to shift from the northeast to the south. With this change in wind direction, it will impact our weather by giving us warmer and pleasant temps not just for today but for the rest of the week. So, for most of today we should see clear skies as highs approach the upper 60s under high pressure. Tonight, lows will be slightly warmer than last night with lower 40s and a clear night. Tuesday will be much warmer as that return flow out from the gulf will give us pleasant well into the mid 70s for most of today. When I say return flow, I basically mean southern air flowing from the south. For Tuesday, you can expect temperatures in the mid 40s. Now by Wednesday, things begin to change for us as models are anticipating a cold front to swing through. With this cold front, rain should return back into our forecast but keep it here at my weather blogspot and I'll tell you more about this upcoming front on Wednesday! In the meantime, go out and enjoy these fall temperatures and God bless!

Rain Free Weekend

Starkville~

Hello everyone! Well, another weekend is upon us and along with that there is NO RAIN in sight! Yep, exciting news right! It has certainly been awhile since we've actually saw a weekend in which the chances of rain were very slim. Its all due mainly because of cool, dry air from the north flowing into the south. If your anywhere outside currently, you can really tell the difference between yesterday's and today's temperatures as yesterday's temps were much warmer. Today's highs will struggle to even get up to the lower 60s, in which lower 60s were forcasted. Due to overcast conditions, the high will only get to 55 with winds out the northwest at 9mph. Even for tonight, cloudy conditions will still be heavy with temps being cool but not as cool if we had a clear night. Look for lows to be around 40. Tomorrow, will be similar to today in both conditions and temps with overcast skies still persisting and highs in the mid 50s. Despite the gloomy look for Saturday, I still see no rain in the area. As Saturday progresses, those clouds should start to clear out by the evening and night hours which make lows dip into upper 30s. Truly, this fall weather is making a grand entrance! Winds still out the northwest. Expect Sunday to be sunny and with the high finally getting out of the 50s and making it to 63. Now, as I have been saying throughout, winds will steady be coming out of the northwest though the weekend but as we go into next week, winds will shift from the northwest to the south; which we we see an increase in temps. I'll have more details on the start of this warming trend on Monday. Until then enjoy this rain free weekend! Also, I want to wish my friends Shellie and De, happy birthday and I hope you all have a great day! God Bless!

Tired of the rain yet?

Starkville~

Hi Everyone! Are you all as tired as I am of all the rain. We have certainly gotten alot of rain in the past weeks. A matter of fact just in the last day or so, we have receive anywhere b/w 2-4 inches of rain. With all of this rain it kind of got me thinking to myself, "I hope the Lord didn't forget about his promise to Noah."lol just kidding Well, heavy showers will continue tonight with a low of 65. Tomorrow, will basically be the same exact same conditions with showers in the afternoon and a high of 73. Tomorrow night, showers clear out leaving us with overcast skies. For thursday, be prepare for more showers as a front moves into our area by the early afternoon hrs. Highs should get to 72. Even though its been raining alot, don't let the weather conditions put you in a funk. The sun will come out again. Now, this weekend looks promising and we may see a rain free weekend. I'll have more on that included in your weekend forecast on Friday. God Bless!

Weekend Forecast Oct. 9 2009

Starkville~

Its Friday!!!! Once again the weekend is here for us to enjoy it! For some us its another weekend filled with football actions and for others its a time of relaxation from work and school. However, no matter what we do on the weekends, everything involves around the weather. So, for the most part for today, weather conditions will be nice with highs in the mid and upper 80s with partly cloudy skies. Now, as we continue to progress throughout today, those clouds will begin to thicken ahead of a cold front that should get here around the afternoon hrs. I'm forecasting it to get here b/w 3-6p.m. and with this front comes some showers and thunderstorms which could be severe. Expect rain to persist throughout the night with breaks here and there. Lows tonight will peak out at 58. Tomorrow morning, we'll still have chances of rain but by the afternoon, conditions should begin to clear out again. Look for highs only in the mid 60s. As you noticed, it will be much cooler tomorrow than today so prepare to feel the difference. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have your umbrella handy for most of the day if your going to any football games or tailgatings. As go throughout Saturday evening and into the night hours, scattered showers could play a role for any plans during those times with lows approaching 57. Highs for Sunday will get to 75 with a small chance of rain. Have a safe and relax weekend! God Bless!

Wednesday October 7

Starkville~

Hi everyone! Hope everyone had a great and safe fall break! I must say it definitely feels good coming back knowing that you only have three days of school until the weekend. Makes for a great week I'll say! Today, started off with lots of lightning and thundering early this morning roughly around 3:30. I should know because I was woken by one of the heavy boomers. Since then, currently, conditions are very quiet with cloudy skies becoming clearer by the minute. Observing the radar, we may still get one or two showers in before the peak of the afternoon hours. Temperatures will be on the cool side today as highs will only get up to 75 with partly cloudy skies for today. Tonight, most of the rain will be out of here leaving us with mostly cloudy conditions which will keep temps. mild at 61. Tomorrow, tempertures will be much warmer as highs get to the mid-80s partly due to the warmer winds shifting from the southeast which we call return flow from the gulf. Tomorrow night, will be warmer as well with a low of 72. We will have a front coming on Friday but I'll have more details on that as well as your weekend forecast. Have a great day and God bless!

Fall Break Forecast

Starkville~
Hi Everyone! Its Thursday once again and the day before Friday. We not only have the weekend off but also fall break is upon us as well making things even nicer. Now, the question is can these temperatures make our four days off even better? Looking at the radar now, I do see some band of showers and thunderstorms moving in our area and should arrive here in the early mornings between 2-4 Friday morning. The rain should still be here through the morning and clear out by the afternoon. Models show that after the rain, clouds begins to clear out leaving us with clear skies tomorrow and a high near 76. We should also see clear skies for those high school football games with a low of 45. Models guidance also show that this weekend looks to be a wonderful one with sunny skies accompany by a high of 76 for Saturday with calm winds making for some great football weather!! As MSU takes on Georgia Tech later that evening, temperatures will quickly drop down to a cool temperature of 50 degrees. Go Bulldawgs! Sunday, temperatures will be in the mid-70s with slight chances of rain in the morning and a better shot at getting showers in the evening. A low of 62 degrees with cloudy conditions for Sunday night. I won't get into fall break temperatures too much as most everyone will be out of town. Just in case you are in Starkvegas, look for temperatures to be around the mid to upper 70s with showers that may hit the area on Mon. or Tues. So, yes it looks like the weather will make for a very pleasant weekend as well as fall break. If your traveling out of town for fall break, have fun and be safe. Thank you all again for your time to visit my blogsite and if you observe anything that needs improving please feel free to post a comment or tell me at my email address at cml217@msstate.edu. Thank you all once again and may continue God to bless each and every one of you!

Finally, No Rain!

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone enjoyed Bulldog Bash and I hope all were safe. I wish we could have won the LSU game, but hey the main thing is that we played hard and were determine to do our best. When you ask me, thats all you can expect. Now even though it rain for the most of the game on Saturday, the sun is finally back and along with it some very nice autumn weather. After seeing plenty of rain our way on Sunday, sunny skies is back in control. Throughout the first part of the week we should see plenty of sunshine starting today. Expect highs to be in the lows 80's with no chances of rain to speak of. We will have a nice cool breeze coming out of the northwest at 10mph keeping our weather cool and pleasant. Tonight, is going to be very clear and calm and because of those clear conditions, we are going to see temperature down in the upper 40s. Rather cool don't you think!? Tommorrow, I don't expect much of a change with highs in the upper 70s and also no rain chances in sight. So, if you have time out of your weekly schedules, go out and enjoy this fall like weather! Have a great Monday and God bless!

Bulldog Bash Forecast

Starkville~

Hi Everyone! Ahhhhh........Friday finally made it here! It's always so refreshing to see this day come after a long and tough week. I'm sure most of you all would concur. Its not only Friday but its also Bulldog Bash for MSU as well. For those of you who are not from Starkville, Bulldog Bash is known for its big concert that happens every Friday of that weekend. It always features local bands as well as big time artists like this year, Third Eye Blind. The concert usually starts around seven and for most of today, weather has been really quiet. I say "quiet" because for thirteen straight days we have seen rain, but today we have not even seen a drop of rain anywhere. Of course, its only 4:57 now, so conditions can change at any moment. I believe by the end of the day, we will see some light showers around the evening hours for a couple of minutes. So, if your still planning on attending the festivities tonight bring an umbrella and expect light showers with a low tonight of 71. Saturday looks like a wet one for the early part of the morning but before game against LSU kicks off, those cloudy conditions could possibly move away allowing us to see some sun. Again, bring an umbrella and expects highs around 85 with light to heavy showers mostly in the morning hours. Saturday lows should get to 67. Could we possibly see a day thats not cloudy and no rain chances? Yes, and that very day could possibly be Sunday with very few, if none at all, clouds with highs approaching the mid 80s. Well, I hope everyone have a safe and wonderful weekend and Go Bulldawgs! God Bless!

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Hi Everyone! Sorry I won't be able to post any thing up tonight. I'm currently studying for a big test on tomorrow. I will have your weekend as well as the Bulldog Bash forecast tomorrow morning. God Bless!

Lots of Rain

Starkville~
Hello everyone! Well, there's only one word to describe our current weather condition and that is rain and lots of it! Rain has been in our forecast for a couple of days now especially southeastern states. Even as we speak, some parts of northern Georgia is flooded. Georgia as well as other southern states are experiencing a type of flooding call flash flooding which is basically when rain fall so heavy and fast that surfaces gets filled with water so quickly and rapidly. There have been plenty of intense showers and thunderstorms in our area as well. The cause of this has been due to a low pressure off toward our west, which has basically been in the same place and is very ever so slowly moving off toward the north. For tomorrow, be prepared for more showers but we could see more of a break from the rain as showers become more isolated. Highs should reach its peak at 84. Wednesday night may see a few showers but the chances of rains will to decrease. Lows should be at 70. Expect some scattered showers around the Starkville area as highs approach 87 on Thursday. If your traveling on any roadways be mindful of wet conditions because all of this rain has made things very slippery and hazardous. Next update will come on Thursday and I'll let you know if Bulldog Bash will be safe from the rain. God bless!

Hurricane Bill

Well, its that time of season again! School has started back for most public schools as well as major universities and after what has seem to be a quiet summer, we see that three tropical storms has just appeared with one of the tropical storm already making hurricane status. First of all, I hope everyone had a great summer and for all the students I just want to wish you all the best of luck this year for you! Like I mention before, it has been a quiet summer concerning the weather until now. One storm by the name of tropical depression Claudette has already went on land and since it was already weak, it didn't do any damage at all. The second one, tropical storm Ana has currently in Cuba and is also weakening even as I type this blog. No major concern with this storm and actually there is only a 30% percent chance that it can become a threat again. Now, with Hurricane Bill, which is at Category 2, most of our models are predicting that this hurricane is going completely miss the south and eastern states and just head northward. Now, this is not guaranteed just yet because tomorrow could be different story and the hurricane path could easily change its course. I'll definitely keep a closer eye on it, but as of right we have no threat from this storm. It should be interesting in the next couple of weeks to see if any other hurricanes form. The reason is that we are actually the peak of hurricane season. September is actually the month in which that peak is in. Make sure to keep a closer watch on your local weathercaster as the atmosphere could become very active in a couple weeks. Stay tuned and I'll be back later to update you on Hurricane Bill and for your weekend forecast. God bless!

Much needed cool down

Hi, everyone! I hope everyone had a great and a safe 4th of July! Its always wonderful to celebrate the holidays with family and friends and certainly fireworks are good on any occasion! Its also a blessing to live in a country where we have freedom. Thank you Jesus! Okay, well temperatures were certainly on the rise throughout the weekend, but a frontal boundary came through late this weekend bringing temperatures down just a bit. Saturday, highs approach 95 but by Sunday highs were only in the upper 80s. So, we finally got a little break in with some much needed rain for the state of MS. Now, temperatures should remain in the upper 80s for the rest of today because of the cloud cover that we have keeping temperatures from rising into the 90s. Tomorrow, we should see temperatures peak back up to the 90s with 91 being the high and Thursday high at 94. 20% chance of rain expected within those two days but the central and southern parts of the state could see more because of that lingering frontal boundary. Next weather update coming Thursday! Have a great day and God bless!

Weekend Outlook

Happy Friday Everyone!! I hope everyone is doing great and preparing for the weekend. First of all, I would like to send my condolences to the Jackson family and also to the family of Farrah Fawcett. The world will certainly miss these important figures in which they had a huge impact on America history. They were very talented in their respected fields and will always be remembered. Also, I would like to wish my best friend, Jamaal Theo Davis, a happy birthday! May God continue to bless you my friend! Now on to your weekend outlook, I must say that things still look the same with conditions still being hot and humid. On Thursday, I've stated that the dewpoint has fallen off a bit into the mid 60s to be exact. This has translated to being drier than we have been in the previous days. Today, it will be a deja vu of that with temps only reaching 96 but dry with clear skies. I stated this yesterday and I will reiterate that the dewpoint is the amount of water in the air. So, the higher the dewpoint along with high temperatures can make conditions muggy and you can really feel the heat compared to just dry conditions. As we approach Saturday, humidity will be on the rise again and we'll be back up in the upper 90s. Expect 98 for your high with clouds beginning to return with the increase in humidity. I believe Sunday will be the hottest day of the weekend ahead of an approaching front. I'm going to say for the city of Starkville, we'll see 99 as our high. Ahead of a cold front, you're always going to see some type of warm up, and we have a cold front that will push through the area by Sunday night and into Monday morning. Now, with this front we do have a chance of rain. Right now, I'm saying only a 20% chance of showers as our models didn't really pick up on anything heavy. Now, we could see about .25 of an inch but as the weekend draws to an end, I should know more. This is your weekend outlook and I hope everyone has a great weekend. Remember if your going to be outside to drink plenty of fluids mainly water. God bless!

Rain, rain please come our way

Hello all! I hope everyone is doing great and most importantly trying to stay relatively cool. Weather conditions are still hot across the state but we are experiencing a small dropoff in humidity. During the last couple of day, dewpoints across the state has been in the lower to mid 70s making conditions really muggy. Today, the dewpoint for Starkville is at 64. In simple terms the dewpoint is the amount of water in the air. So, with the accumulation of very high temps and high dewpoint, this can make for some awful conditions as we have been experiencing lately. The reason for this dropoff in dewpoint is because of a weak boundary that came into the southern area bringing slightly drier air. Expect a cool down for today as temps get up to just about 95 degrees with a cool night at 67. Expect this trend to continue for the weekend with highs still peaking in the mid to upper 90s. Be sure to come back tomorrow and I'll have your weekend forecast and I'll also let you know when our best chance of rain may come. God bless!

Hace mucho calor!!

Starkville, MS

Hello all!!! I know it has been forever since my last blog and I'm sorry that I have not been consistent with keeping you updated on the weather. Things have been so busy lately and I just have not had time to write on a consistent basis. I'm really excited though to be back. Well, as you all may certainly know it has been hot!!! We'll experiencing temperatures near 100 and we are only two days out from the official day of summer which was on June 21st. During the last four days temperatures have peaked out at 97 degrees. Certainly its been hot and dry for the month of June especially in central and southern regions of Mississippi. We have this ridge of high pressure that has remained for the most part across the central and southern region of the state allowing nothing but dry conditions as a result. Now around this high pressure, we have had some thunderstorms to produce giving north MS and surrounding states some rain chances. For the next few days, this high pressure will continue to maintain its hold on the south with humid and hot conditions still persisting. Expects highs to reach up to 98 with few clouds. Tuesday and Wednesday looks about the same with highs peaking out at 97-98 and lows at around normal at 72. Just remember to take caution if working outside. Make sure to drink plenty of water. Wear light colored clothes that will reflect the heat. Try to avoid strenuous physical activity in the middle of the day and if possible try to reserve those activities during the morning or evening hours. Well, like I said earlier its certainly great to be back and I look forward to being much more consistent. Look for the next post to come on Thursday. Stay cool and God bless!

Warm Temps and T-Storms

Starkville, MS-

Good evening everyone! I hope all is well! Certainely, this weekend was fantastic weatherwise with temperatures being in the 70s. If you had any plans for the weekend, certainely the temperatures couldn't have been much better. For the upcoming week, I expect for temperatures to stay near the upper 60s and lower 70s but the weather story for the week is this rain and possible thunderstorms approaching our area. We have a cold front which will be moving into the southern region by late Monday evening giving us a chance of showers for Monday night. Prior to the front coming through, winds will be picking up as well throughout the day and we will see winds reaching anywhere from 15-30mph. So expect a gusty and windy Monday afternoon with plenty of clouds ahead of the front. If you have any plants or items that could easily be moved, I would advice you to move them indoors. Highs for tomorrow will be nice at 74 and dropping to 55 as a low. As I stated above, thunderstorms is very likely as this cold front advances. Expect lightning and strong winds throughout. As for Tuesday and Wednesday, conditions are still the same with the front still lingering. Highs will still be in lower 70s and lows in the upper 40s. Try to stay dry! See you back here either Wednesday or Thursday. God Bless!

Rainy Week Ahead

Starkville, MS
Good afternoon everyone! I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. I didn't do too much myself especially since there were completely no football action going on. I just can't wait until the Super Bowl gets here. The Cardinals in the Super Bowl!! Can you believe it? Its kind of hard to envision that but its true. As far as the weather goes temperatures have been kind of seasonal this weekend with a cold front coming through Friday night dropping temperatures to the mid-40s. The main story this week is the lingering showers thats going to be hovering the area the rest of the week so expect to see plenty of clouds. Monday highs should get up to around 53 with a 40% percent chance of rain later that night. Temperatures should rise up considerably ahead of a cold front making its way through by Tuesday morning. Temperatures should get up to about 68 with a 60% percent chance of rain. After the cold front passes through, temperatures will once again plunge downward to around 46 for our Wednesday high with persistent precipitation still pressing. Look for lows to be around 32. Stay warm and dry. God Bless!

I'm back and so is the COLD!!!

Starkville-

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone had a great and fantastic Christmas and are starting this new year on a refreshing mark! I am very glad to be back and excited to make this new year an unforgetable one. I don't know about you guys but I am sooooo cold right now!! For a minute I thought this January was going to be a warm one, but boy was I fooled. At this current moment, the temperature is at 28 degrees and it is only 6:00 p.m. By tonight, we should be approaching temps of about 12 or 13 degrees. I'm getting shivers just thinking about it! This is all due because of this low pressure system we like to call the Alberta Clipper. Now, the Alberta Clipper is just a fast moving low pressure system which usually forms in Canada and occurs between December and February. This type of low pressure generally only affect the central parts of Canada and dips toward the Upper Midwest of the U.S bringing in blast of surging Artic air to the region. However, this system is dragging all the way down to the south and toward the eastern coastline. This could be due because of a high pressure right behind it pushing it off toward the east. Most of you are probably wondering why there isn't any flurries about. Well, frankly it is just too cold for snow to appear on the ground. Also, it is very dry and dewpoints are very low so our chances of getting any snow is slim. For Friday morning, be prepared to see ice on the ground and temperature to not rise very much in the day as the high will only get to around 31 degrees. Make sure to have a jacket, sweater and all of your winter style of clothing to stay warm because even though the temp is at 31 the wind chill could be around 18-20 degrees not including the 10mph wind thats going to be in affect. Friday lows will be around the same as today at 13 degrees. For the weekend, temps begins to rise slowly back up as a high pressure settles here in the south. For Saturday, look for highs to be around 43 and lows of about 29. For Sunday, highs should get up to about 50 with lows dropping down to 28. Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend and please try to stay warm. I'll talk to you all Sunday! God Bless!
