Currently~as of 6:30a.m.
I don't know about you all but I was rather chilly last night as well as when I woke up this morning. Temperatures last night brought a chill in the air and it certainly made it difficult to get out of bed this morning. I had to get up anyways. As the saying goes, " You got to do what you got to do." The skew T chart to the right shows the temperature line which is highlighted in red and the dewpoint line which is highlighted in green. One thing you will probably notice here is that these lines are pretty much spread apart from the 900 to the 400 level. This indicates a dry atmosphere and clear conditions throughout these levels even at 6:00(12z) this morning. These clear conditions will be indicative of the conditions throughout the rest of the week with sunny skies on hand. Temperatures this morning across the state was in the lower 40s to upper 30s. Some northern counties even saw 32 degrees last night. I had a friend asked me last night if winter was making its return.lol I think this is winter's way of saying goodbye as after yesterday, temperatures will continue to rise starting today.

What's Happening Atmospherically

Ridge of high pressure shown in the map above will continue to build over the southern region and the further west the high pressure moves the warmer temperatures will be. By Friday, we should reach the 80 degree mark for the first time this year. Pleasant and warm temperatures are expected through now into next week although a front will move in on Saturday. However, I think we will mostly only develop clouds in the region and maybe we might get a few sprinkles but nothing more than that. This quiet period should last until next week where our next chance for rain appear as though it will come by next Wednesday. If you are on Spring Break and you decided to just stay in MS, the weather is looking pretty nice for you.

Today
Starting off cool this morning but will warm up quite nicely as highs today reaches into the lower 70s. Plenty of sunshine with very few clouds in the sky. East wind about 5 mph but becoming calm by the end of the day. Although tonight, we will have another clear night but temperatures will be a few degrees warmer than last night. Lows in the mid 40s with southeast winds at 5mph but very light by the end of the night.

Today's blog is shorter than normal, but a simple blog is all it takes for a simple and quiet week ahead and might I add wonderful Spring conditions. Enjoy the day and God bless!
