Thursday forecast for February 4, 2010

Picture brought to you by the weather channel

Today: Lots of rain today with overcast skies and windy conditions/ high of 47

Tonight: More of the same thing with a low of 44

~Starkville, MS

A wet and gloomy day to start your Thursday off with showers starting very early this morning. The rain that was forecasted today has made its way in and will continue for the duration of the day. The rain comes from a low pressure system that is stretching across from the eastern portion of Texas, Lousiana, and Arkansas and moving eastwardly. This system is very wide and carries alot of rain. So, Mississippi today will see a widespread area of showers with the heavier showers staying south of the Starkville area. We could see anywhere from a quarter to half an inch of rain by the afternoon hours alone. So, alot of rain expected today with highs only in the upper 40s. A windy day as well as winds will be coming out of the southeast b/w 10 to 15 and gusting up to 20mph. This is definitely the day to have all of your rain gear on.

Even by tonight, conditions will still be the same with no change except that its night. The rain will still continue to pour from the sky with winds still breezy. Cloudy conditions still expected with not much of a temperature difference b/w today's highs and lows. Low only appear to be in the mid 40s. However, the day is just going to be highlighted by rain and lots of it. Tomorrow, will start off looking like today but the rain should be lifted out of our area by noon. Stay dry and God bless!
