Update for December 11, 2010

As I promised on yesterday, I do have an update for you all. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch for most of the eastern and middle counties of MS until 9:00p.m. Also, the Jackson National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory which will be in effect from midnight to 6pm Sunday.

Both the watch and advisory is due to a strong cold front from the north which will progress southeast through the Mississippi area. Behind this cold front, conditions will become very gusty as winds will change directions. This will impact temperatures as well as the wind chill factor could be well into the teen for some areas. So, it will be very cold throughout and into Sunday morning as you get up for church. Brrrr!!! Be sure to bundle up.

As for later this evening, isolated strong storms will occur and most of the activity should get here in the next hour or two. Some of these storms could potentially have strong rotation and could be severe. Be sure to stay tuned to your local weather stations for updates. I'll have another update tomorrow. God Bless!
